Demand your government goes cage-free

The UK Government recently introduced mandatory rules called 'Government Buying Standards' that demand as a minimum English public sector institutions buy eggs from hens kept in 'enriched' battery cages. Effectively this means taxpayers' money could be used to support confined systems of production which prevent huge numbers of hens from being able to carry out many natural behaviours properly each year.
